How HireSieve scores a CV: quotes, weights and plain arithmetic

HireSieve is CV screening software for UK hiring teams. Every score it gives quotes the line of the CV that earned it, and a person makes every decision.

HireSieve in 45 seconds. Candidate names shown are invented.

Step 1: a rubric from your advert

HireSieve turns your job advert into a rubric of requirements with weights. The weights must add up to 100; change one and the others rebalance. See building a rubric from your advert.

Step 2: facts and quotes

A language model reads each CV and returns facts with the exact quote that supports them. It does not produce scores.

Step 3: arithmetic in code

Python does every calculation. That is the only place a number is created, so the model cannot invent one.

Step 4: a person decides

Nothing auto-rejects. A failed requirement becomes a "not eligible" label that a person can overrule, and the full record is kept.

Before it spends anything

HireSieve shows the count, folder, advert and cost before it sends CVs for screening, and asks again over 80 CVs. Every batch can be undone, and the CV file is never deleted.

Reading a HireSieve result

Each candidate shows a total score, a breakdown by requirement, and the quoted CV line behind every part of the score. If you disagree with a quote's interpretation, you can see exactly which line it came from and overrule it. That is the point of showing the working: a reviewer can check a score in seconds rather than rereading the whole CV.
